Desray Clark


Desray is a women’s leadership development specialist. Her ability to combine her analytical and conceptual skills, combined with her deep theoretical understanding of the issues surrounding women in the workplace, enables her to design and deliver exceptional programmes for creating gender balanced firms . She is currently a professional associate at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), lecturing in the fields of women’s leadership, analysis and decision making and project management.

Desray is working on her PhD through GIBS on “Cultural values and their effect on the career advancement of women executives”. She has an MBA cum laude (GIBS), and

BSc (Maths and Computer Science). Her MBA research report focused on women executives in South African corporates, paying particular attention to the reasons they terminate their employment.

Verity Hawarden


Verity has over 20 years experience in both corporate and small businesses in South Africa. In addition to her primary focus working on women’s leadership development programmes with Abbellard, she is also a professional associate at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS). There, she’s involved in international and local action learning coaching, personal development coaching, case study writing and supervision of MBA research.

Verity has an MBA from the Gordon Institute of Business Science, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Business Administration) from Wits Business School and a BA (English and French Studies) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
